Obituaries: Jorge Sempr�n, 87, Cultural Force in Spain, Dies

After being released from a Nazi death camp, Mr. Sempr�n became a U.N. translator and a Communist activist, returning to Spain in 1953. He was named Spanish culture minister from 1988 to '91.
